Breathable Membrane Located Between Framework & External Cladding

A white or green breathable membrane can be located between the internal framework and external cladding of the building  to help minimize the possibility of any damp penetration and also provide a vapour barrier for when a building is internally  lined and insulated.

Double Opening Window

A 3’ wide X 2’ high top hung opening casement can replace two standard fixed windows.

Key Locking Sliding Bolt

A key sliding locking bolt can be used as an upgrade to the standard galvanized pad bolt on all shed and garage doors.

Upgrade from 2’’ X 2’’ to 3’’ X 2’’ Framework

All Forest buildings which have a floor area of 100 square feet or more are constructed onto a 3” X 2’ diagonally cross  braced internal framework as standard. All buildings with a floor area of less than 100 square feet are constructed onto a 2” X 2” diagonally cross braced framework, which can to upgraded to 3” X 2’’, which is recommended for buildings which  are  to be internally lined.

Internal Partition

Cladded on one side for unlined buildings and insulated and cladded on both sides for internally lined buildings.

Internal Partition Door

Fitted with a lock.

Allowance for omitting the standard timber floor

A pressure treated perimeter timber base plinth is supplied with all buildings, which do not have a timber floor to prevent the  building from having direct ground contact.

Heavy Duty Two-Tier Timber Work Bench

Standard workbenches are 2’6’’ wide X the length required. The benches are often tailor made to fit the layout of the building.

Internal Timber Shelves

Standard shelves are 8’’ wide X the length required. The shelves are often tailor made to fit the layout of the building.

Flower Box

Flower boxes are made to any length up to 7ft.

Window Shutters

Window shutters can be side hung, bottom hung to drop down or made to be removable, which are secured to the building with coach bolts and wing nuts.

Site Assembly onto a Prepared Base

Assembly of the building onto an existing or specially prepared base, including felting the roof and glazing the windows.

Pressure Treated Floor Bearers

3’’ X 2’’ pressure treated floor bearers are strongly recommended to level the shed, summerhouse or playhouse floor onto an existing or specially laid concrete base, paved patio or decking area to raise the building by approximately 2’’ to allow for  air circulation under the floor and to prevent any part of the building from having direct ground contact. The bearers usually  run in the shortest dimension. The floor/joists of the building are secured to the bearers.

Mixture of Bricks, Blocks & Packing

A mixture of loosely laid bricks, blocks and packing are used to level and support the floor bearers at 4ft intervals onto an existing fairly level soil  or lawn site, where no base has been specially prepared. This method can only be used providing the slope of the proposed site is no more than 16’’.

Perimeter Base Gravel Boards

Pressure treated gravel boards are cut to size and fitted around the perimeter of the floor to disguise the brick/block packing used to level and support the bearers onto a sloping site.

Reinforced Concrete Base

A 4’’ – 6’’ thick reinforced concrete base is laid to the external base dimensions of the building. The quoted prices allow for up to a 9’’ fall in the ground. The site will be dug out as required to enable the lowest side of the base to be slightly sunk into the ground and finished just above the existing ground level. All spoils dug out for the base will be removed from  site. Additional costing’s are available to quotation for sites which slope more than 9’’.

Two Coats of Cuprinol or Sovereign SX70 Wood Preservative or Stain

As a budget wood stain or preservative we offer two coats of Cuprinol decorative preserver, Cuprinol Shades stain or  Sovereign SX70 stain onto all external timber surfaces of the building prior to delivery to enable the preservative or stain to be applied to areas which can not be protected once the building has been constructed. The preservative or stain is  applied directly onto the already pressure treated and base coat primed timber. The Cuprinol Shades wood stain is available in approximately 20 different opaque colours and the Cuprinol  preservative and SX70 are available in  approximately 6 different translucent colours.

The 6-coat application is applied to all external timber surfaces of the building prior to delivery to enable the preservative or stain to be applied to areas, which cannot be protected once the building has been constructed. The  preservative/stain is applied directly onto the already pressure treated timber. The Weathershield stain is available in over  200 different opaque colours. The underside of the floor and roof of the building are protected with the preservative and topcoat stain only.

Internal Lining, Insulation and Cavity Wiring Electrics

Iso Wool insulation is fitted directly onto the internal membrane between the framework of the sidewalls and timber boarding  of the roof. Two electric wiring rings (one for plugs and one for lights) are fed under the insulation and grouped together in a  selected area in preparation for a certified electrician to connect to the mains supply. A ¾’’ tongue & grooved ‘V’ board  lining board is secured to the framework of the sidewalls and roof. Cut outs for plugs and light fittings are provided with a  loop of wire left slack in each opening.
